Global Grants for Young  Men at Risk
November 16, 2007 

Groups that work with boys and men ages 15-25 may apply for grants from a new 
 worldwide funding initiative sponsored by the _Robert Wood Johnson 
Foundation_ (http://www.rwjf.org/)  and _Ashoka's Changemakers_ 
(http://www.changemakers.net/) . 
The Young Men at Risk: Transforming the Power of a Generation project is  
intended to identify innovative approaches to helping young men fulfill their  
potential and become healthy, successful adults, in part by reducing health  d
isparities and improving the health of disadvantaged populations. 
Twelve finalists and three winners will be selected; the winners will receive 
 $5,000 awards. Select groups in the U.S. also will be invited to submit  
applications for up to $1 million in grants to support the most promising  
innovations. 
Application deadline is Jan. 16, 2008. For full details, see the
