Save the Date!
Achieving Lifelong Families for Connecticut Children in Foster Care
Wednesday, December 5, 2007, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
State Capitol, Room 310, Hartford
Learn how children in foster care can have better futures through stable and
permanent family relationships.
Children in Connecticut's foster care system need what all children need: a
loving family for life. Across the country, states and counties are
developing best practices to help children move from state care to families.
The Annie E. Casey Foundation/Casey Family Services and Connecticut Voices
for Children will showcase effective policies and promising practices to
support policymakers in helping children achieve lifelong families.
Featured speaker Marc Cherna, director of the Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, will share strategies that
reduced the need for foster care and moved those already in care to
families. Learn how Allegheny County developed front-end and prevention
services, public/private partnerships, community leaders, and a motivated
child welfare workforce for the betterment of its children.
