Breaking News! On May 21, 2007, the Supreme Court ruled that parents may represent their children's interests in special education disputes, and do not need to hire an attorney. The Court held that parents have legal rights under the IDEA and can pursue IDEA issues on their own behalf, although they are not licensed attorneys. The decision in Winkelman v. Parma City School District is available in html and in pdf.
